When we learn to listen deeply to ourselves and our organization, we become more available to the creative flow of life working through us and we have more access to information and wisdom that can serve our organizations.  We then leverage this information in a way that allows us to truly manifest the purpose of our organization and even more fully express our own individual calling.

As we listen for leverage, we begin to ask where is the energy in the system? What is being paid attention to? Or not? How do you know? Where is there tension, and why?  Tension in the organizational system may appear as dynamics of power and politics, often prohibiting productivity and innovation. Creative or generative tension leads to new ideas and increased effectiveness. How do you tell the difference? When we cultivate our Connection, Clarity, and Coherence, we are able to truly listen to ourselves and our organization at a much more profound level; resolving tension expressed as blockages in the system and cultivating the power of generative tension to ultimately result in the desired impact.

COnnection

  • Connection to one’s own center in the midst of leading change.

  • Connecting to the truth of our present experience within ourselves, and within the teams or organizational systems we lead.

  • Connecting the decisions we make in our present with the results we want for the potential future.

  • Connecting what wants to be created to the vision that will guide us to its creation

Clarity

Connecting the present with the potential future brings a new kind of clarity. It also elicits a creative tension that pulls us toward the future and propels us to address any obstacles that are holding that future at bay. This is where the “gold” lies, where in a moment things become more clear, the “ah-hah” moments that happen in a group where someone says something that shifts the entire conversation or someone comes up with a seemingly crazy idea that leads to new thinking. Or, moments of realization in our own stillness, where everything seems to shift and we see a new path through the current situation.

At Mikaena Consulting, we live for these moments and we offer individual and group processes to bring this type of new and creative thinking to light. This type of connection and clarity can also be built into organizational cultures and structures, enabling an entire organizational system to utilize this creative tension between what is and what wants to become in a way that allows the organization to be more nimble, more productive, and more engaging.

coherence

Deeply sourced connection to what is and what wants to become brings clarity and fosters coherence. There is a very tangible felt-sense when coherence exists in a team, an organizational system, or in our own lives. We feel open to possibilities. Our clear intentions and actions cultivate sustained impact. We begin to actively participate in and experience the synchronicity of well-timed connections, improved outcomes, and intended impacts. We feel “tapped in” and grounded. We feel “in flow” with what we are trying to create and with those we are creating it with.

How do we cultivate connection, clarity, and coherence? We begin with the inner work, which is just as important as the outer work.  Some may even say it is more important. Leadership is a reflection of the deepest parts of who we are. Mastery requires a willingness to do the profound work of excavating and bringing to the surface our own motivations and beliefs. You must learn to hold multiple perspectives at once. The outer work draws on this mastery in forging a new path and creating positive change in organizational structures that have been running on outdated systems that no longer serve our future.

In the midst of so much change in our world and our communities, it is time for new thinking. Einstein got it right when he said, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

At Mikaena Consulting, our deepest hope is to participate in raising human consciousness to the point that individuals begin to see and perceive the world around them in a way that is necessary to create a significant positive shift in our world conditions... enough so that we co-create a world that is not only sustainable but flourishing.

We hope you will join us… or may we join you?
